Dear Margaret,
I know you want me on the air today but I've been terribly sick since San Francisco. Last night I mixed cold medicine with Whiskey and ended up staring at the ceiling of my kitchen for atleast half an hour (which I discovered mold and will need to be cleaned with clorox pronto).
The woman I've been messing around with is in my bed and I want her to leave. I've been playing the Grateful Dead's "Touch of Grey" on repeat for half an hour. Isn't that a great hint that I want to be left alone?
Still drunk,
Anne

Old Man and the Seize pt. II
Within a week of posting about the man that seized at Applebee's one of my students collapsed and began to have a seizure. Violently shaking, drooling, eyes rolling to the back of her head- I remembered the steps I posted on this stupid blog about "what to do" when someone has a seizure. Protected her head, removed the rest of the students and cleared the area, and waited for her to stop. Once she stopped myself and my coworker put her in the recovery position until she came to...very scary because she had no idea where she was or what had happened. We had called 911 in the process and her mother (who lived close by).
She's functioning just fine now and was fine directly after the incident- interesting how those experiences can occur- dare I say fate that I was to see the man have a seizure and confirm how to take action if that ever were to happen in the future?
I've been battling migraines almost daily now which is an absolute drag. What else is going on- well- no one who knows me knows that this blog exists and I want to keep it that way. Perhaps I"ll get some strangers who like the blog. Or not- doesn't matter.
Learning how to play the fiddle- was always afraid of that instrument. The bowing is crucial- the finger placements will just take time- off by a millifuckingmeter and you are in big trouble. sometimes i pretend its just jazz improv!!
Seeing a ton of great shows lately- a lot of females are impressing me specifically over the past year. susan tedeschi (my friend nikki talley opened for her), amanda palmer, my brightest diamond, ladytron- the list goes on.
Biggest disappointment the past year was tegan and sara at the rams head live in baltimore. was visiting baltimore on vacation and decided to buy a ticket to see them- love "the con" a brilliant record. the ticket was expensive compared to most- but was willing to overlook that because I was excited about the lineup. Girl in a Coma- the first really huge band to come out of San Antonio- very talented group of young ladies (my best friend had a fling with the lead singer) and City and Colour- who is this guy that dresses like a carpenter? wow what an amazing voice and such sad, honest, provocative lyrics. i bought his album To Bring You My Love and it is absolutely one of my favorite records i've bought next to amanda palmer.
The show itself had tremendous potential and I am blaming it solely on the sound at that venue. I won't even say it was the sound tech- I believe it was the venue (this and a spoke with a musician that played there recently and his band will not go back because of this reason). Anyhow- I love to create depressive moments- after that show was one of the greatest depressive moments i've created for myself--hahhaha---will i go see Tegan and Sara again? You bet. Sara Quin is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers.
Speaking of great writers...what the fuck happened to Tori Amos? I'm listening to Boys for Pele and I'm aching for that brilliance again. Yes please evolve in your special musical way-- i'll tell you- the death of tori amos (she, herself says tori is dead, not me) happened when she signed to a new label. sell your soul and we'll get tons of wigs, mac makeup, and crap pop songs. sad.
my migraines are really making me opinionated tonight.
